Manitwo Flyers, Ltd. Meeting
Minutes of May 20, 2008
The meeting was called to order by President Lloyd Federer at 7:00 PM. Role was taken with nine members present.
The treasurer’s report was read by Fred Sholz. A motion to accept the report as read was made by Jack S. and seconded by Vince H. Motion carried. Fred also reported that he received checks for our money market account to make withdrawals less complicated. Fred showed the tax returns that have been filed.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Gene Pagel. A motion to accept the minutes as read was made by Vince H. and seconded by Jim S. Motion carried.
It had been suggested that our club bylaws be changed to include a mentoring program for young people interested in our hobby. To that end a ballot was sent out to all current paid members. Twenty ballots were sent out with fourteen returned in favor of the changes. The bylaws will be changed as of this meeting. Brooke Luckow will be our first mentored student. Her mentor is Lloyd Federer.
At present we can not use the well. Jim S. will check with Weber as to what can be done to use the well now that the sprinkler system has been removed. Lew S. said we will also have to have some electrical work done. Jim S. explained how the runways will be pitched for proper drainage. SMI will be at the field tomorrow (Wednesday) to do the layout. There will be flags on the field, DO NOT MOVE OR REMOVE THEM. It was also suggested that some stakes be put in so the farmer knows to what extent we are expanding.
We are still on for an indoor demo in the community house gym for the seniors at 11:00 AM until noon Friday June 13, 2008. Gene will remind everyone in a couple of weeks.
Fred Scholz said that we need about 20 aircraft for a good display at the air show. Fred will send out an E-mail asking who will be at the airport for the display. Anyone displaying will have to be at the airport from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Anyone participating will get in free. Fred is still working on the parking. Also anyone participating will have to sign a waiver form and get it back to Fred.
A motion to adjourn was made by Jim S. seconded by Lew S. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned.
