Minutes of June 16, 2009

 

The meeting was called to order by President Fred Scholz at 7:00 PM.  Role was taken with eight members present. 

 

Minutes for the June meeting.  Motion to approve the minutes as e-mailed was made by Doug Hahn. 2nd by Jack Schoenberger Motion carried

 

The treasurer’s report was read by Al Howarth.  A motion to accept the report as read was made by Gene Pagel.  2nd by Chuck Wernecke.   Motion carried.

 

Jet Rally

 

Al Howarth reports is coming along good.  Caution signs have been made.  Samples were brought in of the advertising and direction signs.  Registration to date is seven.  Pilot’s dinner will be at the Ore House serving chicken, fish & ribs.  Al Howarth reported he had received an airplane damaged in shipping.  Kelley recovered the damaged wing for $30. Al suggested the club purchase the plane for $30; have a raffle and club would then collect the rewards. Majority ruled to make the purchase for $30.  Al also requests that four more garbage cans need to be purchased.  Will purchase and write them off on the jet rally.

 

2009 Air Show

 

Because we did not have a written contract the club may not be paid for the show.  Al Howarth will speak with Tom Bare if we do not get paid.

 

Grand Opening

 

            1-June 27 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

            2-Open flying

 

Runway Centerline:  No date as of yet.

Electric Junction Box:  Al Howarth will talk to food service people to see what they require.

Runway drainage problem:  Will take up at July meeting.

Tables:  Will take up at July meeting.

Well:  Is done.

Flight stations/fence:  Will be done by the end of the week or first part of next week.

Noise complaints:  Town Board will back us up.  We will have to make an attempt to keep noise down and stay inside of field as much as possible.  Field rules need to be updated and posted on the field before the rally.

Frequency pins:  Are in place and look good.

 

 

 

New Business:

 

Flight Education Day:  Will be discussed at July meeting.

 

Handicap signs:  We have two.  They will be placed at each end of the field.

 

 

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Gene Pagel, 2nd by Jack Schoenberger.
