Manitwo Flyers, Ltd. Meeting

Minutes of July 15, 2008

 

The meeting was called to order by President Lloyd Federer at 7:00 PM.  Role was taken with twelve members present.

 

The treasurer’s report was read by Fred Scholz.  He noted that we have two new members and have received a donation from Red Arrow Products.  A motion to accept the report as read was made by Vince H. and seconded by Lew S.  Motion carried. 

 

The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Gene Pagel.  A motion to accept the minutes as read was made by Lew S. and seconded by Vince H. Motion carried.

 

Field Status

We have received the soil sampling results and they have been given to the DNR.  Jim S outlined the changes to the field proposal and the status at this point  The club will have to come up with funding to pay for the field by December 31, 2008.  Al Howarth has contacted the West Foundation and an application will need to be filed by early August.  We have received a quotation for the safety fencing in the amount of  $16,385.00.  Jim S suggested that the grass areas between the pavilion and the pilot stations be done with sod.  He also volunteered to pick up the cost if club members do the installation.

 

It was reported that #2 wire will be adequate for the 100 Amp service at the pavilion.  Lloyd Federer has volunteered to purchase the wire(three pieces 210 Ft long).  Russ Halverson volunteered to rent a trencher and install the wire between the garage and the pavilion.

 

Al Howarth questioned the location of the pond for float flying at the field.  May need to include the pond and also a RC car race track in the proposal to the West Foundation.  Another item to include in the proposal is an additional storage building.

 

Club Brochure

Vince H. is working on the update to the club brochure.  When that is complete the writer will take a disc to Prompt Printing and have 100 more printed.

  

Cap Project

The kids will again be at the field this coming Thursday for flight training.

  

 Open Floor

Lew will be cutting the grass this Thursday because of the weather.

 

A new member David Pederson donated money for a new set up bench.  Lloyd Federer has built it and it is at the field.  Lloyd also said that he would like several more tables if anyone else would like to build one.

 

Russ Halverson sanded and painted the picnic tables.  They look great.

 

Al Howarth will be attending the meeting for the Thunder on the Lakeshore.  He will be volunteering our club to do the RC portion of the show.

 

Vince Hickel will get the pictures of the CAP kids and their planes so that an article can be sent to AMA for possible inclusion in the monthly magazine.

 

A thank you letter is to be sent to Leigh Stegeman for the picnic tables.
