Manitwo Flyers Club Meeting

M&M Lunch, Two Rivers, WI 2/20/07

 Meeting called to order by pres. Lloyd Federer.

 Role was taken: 9 members present.

 Treasurer’s Report was read by Gene Pagel.  Net worth as of February 20, 2007 is $59,379.08.  Motion to approve was made by Chuck Wernecke, 2nd by Gene Pagel, motion carried.

 Minutes read by Eric Cayemberg.  Motion to approve was made by Tom Curelli, 2nd by Lew Stevens, unanimously passed.

 Business

  1. Fund Raising (Al)

    1. Harley Davidson Raffle

  1. Al brought along an example of Harley raffle poster stands made by BC Signs.  They are a nice color poster advertising our raffle.

  2. Bubba’s Place in Manitowoc has agreed to display the bike and talk about it on the radio

    1. Kiwanis Dinner: Al and Don will give a roughly 30 minute presentation on the club and fundraising efforts.

    2. First National Bank is a large community sponsor, especially for the Manitowoc Airshow: are they a potential donor?

    3. A letter will be sent to each Manitwo Flyers member asking them to sell 10 raffle tickets.

  1. Educational Activities (Gene)

    1. Kevin Palmer: 4-H County employee thinks that a 4H educational day would be a great idea.

      1. A course could run for several weeks, maybe in September or October?

      2. An outline needs to be generated regarding what this course would entail

      3. A person is needed to head this potential activity up

    1. Shawn Engleman: Cub Scouts, Lt. Sheehan (TR): Boy Scouts: interested in doing a “Merit Badge” for a model airplane program; Lt. Sheehan seemed quite excited at the prospect.

    2. AMA’s TAG program: maybe next year, enough for this year

    3. McGee School in TR: will talk to the principal about setting up an event in April or May

    4. Ethnic Fest: September 15, there is much paperwork to participate, and a portable refrigerator unit would be needed; which would be difficult to obtain on event weekend.  If someone would like to head up efforts, that’s fine, otherwise, we are passing on participating in 2007.

    5. Lakeshore CAP: Program for young adults

      1. Possible assemble a plane with Manitwo’s help; Al to check into further

    6. Folk Fair: May 7: Don, Jack, Lew, and Gene will participate; Bill Kvinglog will fly his featherlite plane.

  2. Rules and Bylaws Update

    1. Which bylaws were sent into the government for our 501C-3 application?

    2. Jack went through the bylaws and marked up what he believed would be valid areas to revise.

    3. Lew will call Jim to determine what the current Bylaws are (the same as Jim had sent in)

  3. Open Floor

    1. Craftsmen Riding Lawnmower available for $50 donation to the club: Contact Lew Stevens good engine and tranny; needs an inner tube on the front tire.

    2. Thank you cards should be sent to the donors: Eric to do so.
