Business
- IRS
- The IRS has waved the penalty!
- FYI: the accountant did our two tax returns (2005 and 2006), took care of affidavits stating we were unaware we needed to file, etc; all up cost was around $1200 to do so.
- Educational Activities
- The Planes are coming along well. People are needed to help on Thursdays; contact Al.
- Lakeshore CAP is VERY pleased with the job being done by Manitwo Flyers reps.
- It has been arranged that each of the students will be given a ride in a full scale plane this summer.
- Lakeshore CAP has asked if we would be willing to do another set of 8 boys and/or girls
- A statement was made that if the student is serious about flying R/C, learns to fly the plane and earns their “pilot license,” they then get to keep the plane they constructed.
- Elections
- The following were nominated for officer positions for the 2008 year:
i. President: Lloyd Federer
ii. Vice President: Chuck Wernecke
iii. Secretary: Gene Pagel
iv. Treasurer: Fred Scholz
v. Field Marshall: Jim S
vi. Safety Officer: Doug Hahn
- Gene Pagel made a motion to vote into office the nominations as presented above. Lew 2nd, motion carried. Welcome to the new and returning officers for the 2008 season! Thank you to those who stepped up to help the club!
- Open Floor:
- Lloyd presented a field layout that will be submitted to the County for approval.
i. There was question if we should have the N-S runway paved or leave it grass?
1. Will it get used? Is it worth $50,000 in construction fees
a. We can determine this at a later date.
- Lew volunteered to help with the field as long his health permits! Our club depends on a nice field; and Lew spends countless hours working out at the field. Thank you very much Lew for all your hard work!
- Fred has a Hobbico Accucycle charger/cycler for sale: $50.
- Al reported that he has received word that it is ok to put up the 2 signs! Furthermore, the $300 permit to put up the signs has been waived!
i. Al will meet with Gary Kennedy of the County to determine if they are willing to fabricate signs for us, or if we will have to do it.
- Russ got the quote back from ACE building service for our pavilion. They came in a little over twice the price of the lowest bidder from the bids reported on at the last meeting! We will therefore pursue the services of the other bidders when the time comes for our pavilion to be erected.
- Jim made a motion to adjourn. Lew 2nd. Unanimously approved. Meeting adjourned.
