Manitwo Flyers, Ltd. Meeting
Minutes of April 15, 2008
The meeting was called to order by President Lloyd Federer at 7:00 PM. Role was taken with twelve members present.
The treasurer’s report was read by Fred Sholz. A motion to accept the report as read was made by Vince H. and seconded by Lew S. Motion carried. Fred also reported that he will be getting checks for our money market account to make withdrawals less complicated. The tax information has been sent to the accountant.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Gene Pagel. A motion to accept the minutes as read was made by Tom C. and seconded by Vince H. Motion carried.
Field Status
Lloyd reported that the surveying and topographical work by SMI should be done in about two weeks. Work on the field should begin shortly after that.
Gene contacted the senior center regarding the annual folk fair. The fair this year has been called off because two of the schools cancelled. In lieu of the fair they asked that we put on an indoor demo in the community house gym for the seniors at 11:00 AM until noon Friday June 13, 2008.
After talking to several club volunteers I told them that we would do it.
Al Howarth said that we have the opportunity to participate in the air show as part of the Northern Aces show. Those who volunteered to fly were:

Also for a static display Fred S. said that if all would bring a couple of planes we could have a nice display.
A motion was made by Gene P.that an audit of our books be made on or about June 30, 2008. Seconded by Lew S. Motion carried.
It has been suggested that our club bylaws be changed to include a mentoring program for young people interested in our hobby. An adult member of the club would mentor the person and teach him or her about RC modeling. The dues for the student would 20% of the adult membership. The specifics of the program are outlined in the proposed changes to our bylaws. A motion was made by Lew S. and seconded by Vince H. that a ballot be sent out for a vote on the proposed changes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Gene P. to have Lew continue to purchase lawn mower fuel at the Mishicot Cenex. Seconded by Jack S. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Vince H. to allow the purchase of maintenance items for the field at a cost of up to $200.00 without prior approval. Seconded by Eric C. Motion carried.
It was decided to keep the gazebo for equipment storage.
Al H. said he would purchase and install stakes to hold the gates in the open position.
Al H. read a letter from the CAP organization thanking the club for the effort by our club and pointing out the benefits of the project. It was decided that we will wait for some group and maybe flying pictures before the article about the CAP project is sent to the AMA VP. Someone will have to make arrangements for the photos. Three of the kids have already applied for their AMA membership.
Gene P. made a motion that Eric Cayemberg, Ron Smith, and Fred Scholz be added to our list of instructors. Seconded by Russ H. Motion carried.
Show and Tell
Ron Smith brought in a Pitts Special that he has just finished. He talked about how he set it up and gave some specs. Very good looking aircraft good job Ron.
A motion to adjourn was made by Jack S. and seconded by Lew S. Motion carried.
