Old Business
1. Jim gave update on supplying power and water to the field. Public Service would run power up to the field underground for $9300. Well drillers for water would cost about $5000 with pump.
2. Asphalt on field could cost up to $150,000 for 50x700 strip 4”inch thick. This would include prep work.
3. Discussion on the upcoming flight education day. Brats and burgers to be provided along with soda and water. Ads to appear in the newspaper. Several members will be on the radio to discuss the club. If there is any extra food then John will purchase it from the club.
4. It was agreed that the calling of absent members is a good idea and should continue for the next meetings.
New Business
Jim made motion to have the club install the electricity and water at his expense. Motion was not voted on.
Al would like to see the money spent on asphalt.
Good discussions on field improvements, what should be done and when. No consensus reached yet. IT is agreed that the original plan by the now defunct field committee needs to be looked at again and revised as necessary.
Al needs brochures and videos and other tools to help sell the club to prospective donators. For an example to promote the club he brought a video from the Fond du Lac club. Video was watched. It was agreed that although it is a nice tool for new members to become familiar with the club that it is too long for promotional viewing.
Discussion on supplying the field with benches similar to to the ones used at the Calumet Flyers field.
Jim to check on grass improvements for the field with Dennis Robison to see which direction we should be going in.
When Fond du Lac club had a fun fly recently they made sure that brochures were distributed to all of the local hobby shops. It was pointed out that we as a club are poor at this kind of promotion.
Al provided some feedback on the type of material and advertising for the sign at the field. A design was approved and a motion by Jim was made that we proceed with this design and have it made. Seconded by Al, all approved, motion carried. The design was to be sent by Al to Tom to have the sign made.
Discussion of moving the meeting time to 7:00pm for all meetings, not just summer ones. No decision made at this time.
There is a pile of dirt at the shed. It you are at the field and see some major holes please try to fill in these holes with the dirt.
Someone was driving into the wheat field. It was probably the county but the club needs to be aware that this is not a good thing to do.
Motion to adjourn made at 8:24 by Vince, 2nd by Lew, all agreed.
