Manitwo Flyers Club Meeting

M&M Lunch, Two Rivers, WI 1/16/07

 Meeting called to order by pres. Lloyd Federer.

 Role was taken: 9 members present.

 Treasurer’s Report was read by Tom Curelli.  Net worth as of January 16,2007 is $59,512.27 thanks to several large donations!  Thank you to the contributors!

 Minutes read by Eric Cayemberg.  Motion to approve was made by Vince Hickel, 2nd by Jack Schoenberger, unanimously passed.

 Business

  1. Fund Raising (Don, Al)
    1. Al reported that Dominion (nuclear) rejected our proposal based upon the statement that we are not an environmental 501C-3 org.  Al asked to resubmit the request restating our field fund raising as a community project.
    2. Harley Raffle:

                                                               i.      Tickets will cost $20 each or 6 for $100. 

                                                             ii.      Drawing will occur April 15 or when all tickets (1500) have sold.

                                                            iii.      We need a person to keep track of ticket flow/sales.

1.      Record tickets going out, in, providing tickets, point of contact regarding tickets

  1. Brochure (Gene)
    1. Prompt printing printed 100 brochures at a total cost of $50.47.
    2. They are very impressive and look very professional and appealing: great job!
    3. 20 have been delivered to the Manitowoc Visitors Bureau: Al to check if they have been put out in the racks.
    4. A few requests were made for minor revisions prior to additional printing

                                                               i.      Add the COLOR logo to the front

                                                             ii.      Add PO BOX within the pages of the brochure

    1. Everybody liked the brochures; Prompt to print an additional 100 after revisions.
  1. Educational Activities (Gene)
    1. SHARKS (Sheboygan R/C club) puts on an event in a gym for 4-H members.  The kids may operate a simulator, possible indoor flight demos, etc. 

                                                               i.      Maybe we could do similar.  Gene has made a call to Kevin Palmer-director of 4H activities; and is waiting for a response from Kevin.

    1.  New AMA program: “TAG” (Takeoff and Grow) see Model Aviation, page 9.  AMA provides equipment, simulator, etc.  We should see if our club is eligable
  1. Spring Fling (Eric, Ron)
    1. Possible Dates are: April 21 or 28.
  2. Open Floor
    1. Al: HTR runs a column: “Out & About”, a free posting of community events.  We should look into posting meeting dates and times in there.
