Manitwo Flyers Club Meeting

M&M Lunch, Two Rivers, WI 4/17/07

 

Meeting called to order by pres. Lloyd Federer.

 

Role was taken by Gene Pagel: 12 members present.

 

Treasurer’s Report was read by Tom Curelli.  Net worth as of  April 17,2007 is $59,379.08.  Motion to approve the report was made by Lew Stevens, seconded by Jack Schoenberger, motion carried.

 

Minutes read by Eric Cayemberg.  Motion to approve was made by Vince Hickel, 2nd by Tom, unanimously passed.

 

Business

  1. Fund Raising (Al)

    1. Ticket Sales

                                                               i.      21 people have not notified Al, or sold any tickets.  Please notify Al how many you have sold and/or turn in tickets to Al.  Updates to be posted on website.

                                                             ii.      Sell at Spring Fling, Manitowoc Airshow, possibly do a “Last Chance” at Spring Fling and draw winner there. 

    1. Donations

                                                               i.      Al made calls to Balsa USA, whom has received lots of requests and is not interested in donating at this time.

                                                             ii.      Don Gruett spoke to Weyerhauser and it sounds promising

                                                            iii.      Other foundations are out there, we need to make appointments, meet with them in person, ensure we meet the necessary regs.

                                                           iv.      Don talked to Mayor Crawford, who was unaware of our activities.  The Mayor will meet with the City Executive Committee to discuss us.

  1. Educational Activities (Gene)

    1. Kevin Palmer of the county:

                                                               i.      Workshop April 28 is scratched; rescheduled for July 3rd

                                                             ii.      Camp Tapawingo: More info to come from Kevin

                                                            iii.      McGee: in Fall, 1 day, w/ possible flight demo.

                                                           iv.      Rahr West: Planes needed (will be hung for 4 weeks)

1.      Pretty much set

2.      May 30 is the kick off for the display, talk to people, have a plane on static, etc.

                                                             v.      Kelly Sweetman offered to go through a food display certification

a.       Any event after July, vending food costs $10 versus $50

  1. Field (Lew)

    1. Craftmen Mower needs to be out of garage; please somebody take it, otherwise it will be junked

    2. TA motorsports has a tractor to roll the field, however it cuts into the field and can’t be used.  Don Gruett to check with County (Chuck Behnke).  Jim offered his tractor, Lloyd, his trailer

    3. Trenches: Anybody with a wheelbarrow, fill in the trenches, not around water valves (blue caps) however

                                                               i.      Tamp down and rake

                                                             ii.      Dirt is by well, get a shovel and fill in as needed

                                                            iii.      Could somebody leave a wheelbarrow out there for a while?

    1. Driving: drive up to shed, not beyond the lines.  Stop by shed until field conditions improve!

    2. Driveway estimates

                                                               i.      Vince made motion to accept site plans as shown.  2nd by Lew.  Motion carried.

                                                             ii.      We will get estimates from County, as well as Private entities

                                                            iii.      Proposal for County for any additions to the property

1.      Once approved, installation may occur

    1. Jim noted that “Franz” will likely complete the trench for the water hookup in mid-May at which time we’ll have running water

  1. Open Floor

    1. Bylaws

                                                               i.      We must verify that the copy of our Bylaws sent in with the 501-C3 application is our current club bylaws.

                                                             ii.      Jack is working on proposed changes

    1. Spectrum transmitters/receivers

                                                               i.      We will have an ORANGE PIN in the Frequency box for use with “Spectrum” radios that scan channels and pick their own

                                                             ii.      Just like any other freq. pin, you must have that pin in your possession before turning radio on!
