Manitwo Flyers, Ltd. Meeting

Minutes of February 17, 2009

 The meeting was called to order by President Fred Scholz at 7:00 PM.  Role was taken with ten members present. 

 The reading of the minutes for the January meeting were asked to be skipped due to time concerns within this meeting.  A motion to accept the minutes as received was made by Al Howarth and seconded by Jack Schoenberger.  Motion carried.

 The treasurer’s report was read by Al Howarth.  A motion to accept the report as read was made by Lew Stevens and seconded by Jack Schoenberger.  Motion carried.

 Brat Fry

Will be at Copps Food Center on Saturday, August 8, 2009.  There will be two people available with county permits to handle food.  We will need people to volunteer to work that day. 

Grand Opening

Saturday, June 27, 2009 is the day set aside for the grand opening. 

Pylon Races

Lloyd Federer reported Vince said our field will be used just for practice.

 Field Problems

Lien will be dissolved.  Al Howarth will monitor the situation and keep us informed. 

Lloyd Federer reported he was approached by a neighbor near the flying field because they were not happy with the noise.  Al Howarth will personally go around to our neighbors to address any issues or concerns they may have prior to the jet meet.

 2009 Air Show

No specifics from Curt Drumm as of yet.  He did say he wanted us at the show.  Compensation needs to be discussed.  We will be flying and a static display will be at Don Gruett’s hanger.  The Northern Aces will not be attending this year.  There should be a meeting regarding this sometime in March.

 Introductory Pilot Program Instructor

Was explained by Fred Scholz.  This is something new where an individual comes on the field and would like to take some introductory lessons to see if he likes it or not.  We can do that now.  He will be covered and we will be covered for a 60 day period.  If that individual comes back at a later date, he has to use the same instructor.  He cannot go up with anyone else or coverage will be void.  See Fred for the application forms.  The cost will be $5.00.

Jet Rally

Al Howarth is continuing to gather information and numbers for the rally.

 A motion was made to adjourn the meeting by Jack Schoenberger and seconded by Lew Stevens.  Motion carried.
